The position of the PMYP chairperson fell vacant after the voluntary resignation of Maryam Nawaz Sharif in November this year.
Leila Khan has also worked as adviser to former chairperson of PMYP, Mayram Nawaz Sharif. She is a foreign graduate in communication studies and was working with various financial institutions before becoming a member of the National Assembly. 
She is also the central chief organizer of PML-N Women Youth Wing. She has been designated to oversight the PMYP purely on honorary basis and will not draw any salary or perks/privileges.
