SRINAGAR: An Indian Border Security Force (BSF) soldier opened fire near the residence of India-held-Kashmir's Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday, according to a report on The Hindu website.
Omar Abdullah was in New Delhi when the BSF trooper fired around a dozen gunshots. There were no casualties in the incident as all shots were fired in the air.
The report quoted police sources as saying that the mental condition of the soldier was not stable.
He was overpowered by around a dozen of his comrades following the shooting.
Following the incident, fear and panic gripped the area as resident feared an attack had taken place on the chief minister's residence
